The Home Retention Specialist I is responsible for later collection activity on Non-FHA Single Family mortgage loans. The Home Retention Specialist I communicates with borrowers, housing counselors, and PHFA employees.
Maintain an auto queue of Non-FHA accounts that are 46-99+ days delinquent; make outgoing calls and take incoming calls through a designated phone queue. Also send letters encouraging the borrower to contact PHFA.
Process incoming payments and advise the accounting area how to post the funds that were received.
Review and enter financial information to see if the borrower qualifies for a loss mitigation option. Send out appropriate correspondence to the borrowers.
Request that the Intention to Foreclose letters are sent on accounts that are 62 days or more delinquent.
Complete required documents when a borrower applies for Hemap assistance and correspond with housing counselors as needed.
Prepare and send referral packages to our attorney in order to begin the foreclosure process.
Maintain a neat and organized work area.
Other duties as assigned by the Manager of Default Servicing.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with borrower and housing counselors.
Must have the ability to be firm yet professional when necessary.
Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Must have a team mentality.
Ability to work independently.
High school diploma or GED required. Associates degree or higher preferred.
